Best Date Ideas for Home-Bodies & Social Distancing

Updated: Dec 7, 2020

Sometimes it’s fun to get dolled up and go to the fancy restaurant in town but sometimes it’s nice just to throw on some sweats and plop your butt on the couch. If you and your significant other are more of the home-body type or you’re looking for some great date ideas to keep the spark alive as businesses close down due to social distancing restrictions, look no further. We compiled a list of our tried and true favorite date ideas that only require a quick walk to the couch with no pants required!

1. MasterClass

MasterClass is a streaming platform that has over 90 masters-of-their-craft teaching you lessons right from the comfort of your own home. From Penn & Teller teaching you magic tricks you can use to impress your family and friends at your next get together to Gordon Ramsey teaching you how to make a lobster ravioli (without his judgment and insults). There are hours of classes to keep you entertained for many date nights to come. MasterClass is $15/month but you must pay for the whole year up front ($180). They do offer a 30-day money back guarantee. Let’s Go is offering $20 OFF the annual subscription if you purchase through Let’s Go here.

2. Create Your Own Wine

Calling all wine aficionados, this one's for you! What’s better than sipping wine at home with your loved one? How about sipping the wine you created together! Blendtique allows you to blend 4 different types of wine to concoct your very own special blend. It comes with instructions on the different characteristics of each wine and how each wine will affect the overall taste. It even has some sample blends you can test to help find what you love. You’ll feel like a mad scientist while you use your pipette and beaker to perfect your blend. It’s one of the funnest at home date nights we have had. *BONUS* Get some fun fancy cheeses and crackers to snack on while you find that perfect blend. Save on your purchase with the Let’s Go promo codes here.

3. Virtual Escape Room

Break out your thinking caps and help solve the case! We had a lot of fun doing both volumes of The Escape Game: UNLOCKED. It definitely makes you think outside the box to solve the case but it’s not so tough that it gets frustrating. If you’re struggling to get to the next step they do have a hint button you can use. It’s the perfect length for date night as it will take you about 1-2 hours to complete depending on how clever you are. The Escape Game currently offers 3 different virtual mysteries to solve. You can order 1 or save by bundling all 3 together.

4. Dance Lessons

This is great for couples who love to dance and want to learn some new moves OR couples that have two left feet that want to learn a new skill you can bust out at the next wedding or maybe YOUR wedding! The greatest part about this is your learning in the comfort of your own home. You can literally dance like no one is watching. We tried the at-home dance lessons from Show Her Off, which is a fitting name because after a couple lessons you’ll want to show her off.

5. Date Night Box

You can order a date night box curated just for you. There are many companies to choose from but we tried the Crated With Love date night box. We loved that you have the option to order one box to try or a monthly subscription which can help make sure you take time for date night each month. The box is filled with small fun games and conversation starters to help you get to know your significant other better. Save on your first box with promo code LETSGO at checkout.

6. Massage Class

This is the perfect date idea for couples looking to add a little intimacy into the relationship. We signed up for MELT’s online massage classes and it might have been the best investment we’ve ever made! Learn techniques that will turn your hands into 5 fingers of pleasure and your S/O into a puddle. Light some candles, turn on some baby making music, maybe crack some wine and test out the techniques you learn from Denis. Make sure to invest in massage oil, no one wants a dry rub down 😉
